"Gold Cures" is the first single from Eksi Ekso's forthcoming full-length "Archfiend" (05.07.13).
"Gold Cures" is based loosely on a cure for alcoholism called the "Keeley Cure" that was developed by Leslie Keeley in the late 1800s, which utilized "bichloride of gold" and funded by one of Chicago's most prominent businessmen (later to be revealed as one of America's most notorious serial killers) - H.H. Holmes.
lyrics
bottle it up. that’s what they want
a little elixir to kick in a punch
still have the burn to suck the taste from if I itch
finish it off. thumb through the stock
a colored affliction, some things you want
an aisle of serum shimmering as if we had the fortune to lose
something else to end us
you’ll lose
something else will end us
we’ll end us
without this new gold cure
I’ll find myself as two
one version overcomes with time
the other dies in the duel
